Late afternoon arrival in hotel Parma and surrounding. Welcome drink and overnight

Breakfast and departure for Parma, visit guided to hystorical center: Pilotta Palace with Farnese theatre and National Gallery, Cathedral square and Baptistery, Garibaldi square. The beautiful Regio Theatre and the house where Arturo Toscanini was born. Last stop at Antica Farmacia San Filippo Neri, a journey through places that have remained secret for a long time. Visit to a cheese factory where the various stage of production of the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese are illustred. The production process of the “ King of cheeses’ “ is manual and has been carried out in the same way since the Benedectine monks invented it 10 centuries ago. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Guided tour of the composer’s birth house, San Michele the small church where he was baptised, the organ that Giuseppe played as a child, is preserved. Transfer to Busseto to visit the Verdi Theatre and the Casa Barezzi Museum. Free lunch in a historical salsamenteria, an extraordinary setting with Verdi music in background, a magical atmosphere that exudes memories , crawling shelves with typical products. In the afternoos visit to Giuseppe Verdi National Museum , and the new Renata Tebaldi Museum, where you can admire the costumes jewellery and memory of an international opera diva. The tour ends at Villa Verdi where the Maestro lived and produced his greatests operas. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast departure to Fontanellato, a medieval Village part of circuit of Castles in the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. The Rocca San Vitale was built in the 14th century, still protected by a moat filled with water. Inside you can admire the frescoes of “ Il Parmigianino” . Free time for lunch and  transfer to Zibello, and visit one of the cellars where the famous culatello is matured, we will discover the long process , strictly handmade and aged for years, that transform the nut of the pig’s thigh into the prestigious cured meat , with its intense flavour and aroma , which we will taste. Transfer to the hill for a visit to a Lambrusco wine cellar and a tasting of typical products. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
