Arrival in Ferrara. Free time, and afternoon spent on a guided tour of the city and its Estense Castle, the city’s most iconic monument, situated in the historic centre. After visiting Ferrara’s monuments and traditional streets, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast, then departure for Dozza, one of ‘Italy’s most beautiful villages’. Known for its murals, which have transformed it into an open-air museum. Visit to the Rocca Sforzesca, which overlooks the surrounding hills and houses the renowned Emilia-Romagna Regional Wine Cellar. Free lunch, followed in the afternoon by a visit to the Rocchetta Mattei, a unique architectural gem. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight 

After breakfast, departure for Montechiarugolo, travelling along the ‘Prosciutto and Hillside Wines Route’; the village stands on a promontory overlooking the River Enza. Visit the small village and the Villa dei Capolavori, home to the Magnani Rocca Foundation, which houses a unique collection featuring works by Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Goya, Titian, De Chirico, Rubens, Van Dyck, Burri, De Pisis, Tiepolo, Canova and the most significant collection of works by Giorgio Morandi. Lunch at a local farmhouse, followed by a visit to a dairy producing Parmigiano Reggiano, a local speciality. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, departure for Castell’Arquato, the most visited village in the Piacenza hills, built on top of a hill overlooking the entire valley. Meet the guide and tour the village, the Rocca Viscontea, the collegiate church, the Palazzo del Podestà, the Farnese tower, and finally the monumental square, a symbol of the three powers of the medieval town: religious, political and military. Lunch at a traditional trattoria to sample the local specialities of the hills. In the afternoon, a visit to a winery producing ‘Vin Santo di Vigoleno’. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, departure for a guided tour of Bologna, also known as ‘La Dotta’ due to its ancient university and ‘La Grassa’  for its sumptuous cuisine. Free lunch se in the city centre during the excursion. At the end of the tour, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
